A classic from the long boxes! Key issue for Valiant and for the entire 90's era!

Love those 4th and 6th panels especially.

In the 4th, the close-up of Aric's X-O ring along with the unmistakeable BWS-drawn eye and brow is a wonderful representation of not only this imaginative, memorable Valiant series of the 90s [one of the best decades for comics (that's, right...you KNOW it's true)], but also it represents Aric's character at this point of his story. This panel tells a whole tale.

Then in the 6th, we get such a wonderful cinematic shot of Aric. BWS pulled back our vantage point just enough to show Aric is a man alone at this point of the narrative. But. He knows who he is. He knows what he is. He has determination. His life has been laid waste save for the ring in his possession and a barabarian's heart. And so he ventures forth from the waste to find his place.

One last thing I would like to add now that I notice it is the first panel. It is tender; suggestive of the love of Aric's life. And it is absolutely haunting to then look to panel 2 after considering panel 4 and 6's individual souls. The more I look at this page, the more it comes to life. It breathes story.

Thank you immensely for sharing this page. I'm also a major 90s Valiant fan and I hope one day I can own a BWS X-O page like this. Cheers.
