Description

My most cherished Benes piece, featuring the JLA and measuring a monster sized 32x17. We've got the hot girls of the team headlining each panel (The Trinity Femmes of Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Batgirl), surrounded by the other big guns of (Flash, Superman, Hawkman, Batman, Zatanna, Hal Jordan, Aquaman) all within the Hall of Justice.

While Ed clearly draws exciting females, this piece actually features a lot of balance. Men and Women, Land Sea and Air abilities, Short and Long range attacks, Genius and Brawn, Physical Mental and Magic.

Sorry about all the space on the top and bottom, I had to add space to the scan in order that the width wouldn't push all the rest of the gallery off the screen. A big shout out to Ed for taking some time out of his schedule for this monster, and of course Court, for not keeping it for himself when he saw it. Makes a great poster, don't you think?

I have some spare organs I don't need. Kidney, brain, lungs, heart - and, of course, arms and legs - if you want to trade, I'm interested! While Ed's style is still evolving (although at this point I think, only slightly) this piece, this GRAIL of a piece, captures the very best of Ed Benes, and the JLA. A work for the ages. Congratulations!

This was one of the first Benes pieces I ever saw online and have always thought it was incredible! Who knew he`d have to outdo himself on the JLA #1 cover years later, eh? Congrats!
