DescriptionPicked this sucker up on the cheap while collectors were, apparently, napping during the August Heritage auction. Paul's pages are a wonder in person not only because of his original style but the sheer size of them. At 19 x 24, holding it in your hand, it feels like the ink is going to start dripping off.Great composition to this page with panels zooming in and out from the initial shot of Batman. Fantastic buy...a total steal, IMO. Great timing for you as so much BY100 art had been released in a relatively small window. Big, big congrats!

Thanks, Felix! I remember missing out on your art drop then seeing the 2 pieces come up on Heritage. Had to get one and luckily I got the better page. The price was icing on the cake.

Well if this isn't Pope perfection I don't know what is. I mean, other than it being in my collection of course...then it really would be perfect.

Wow! What a wonderful page from Batman: Year 100! Love the top panel with a classic Paul Pope Batman drawing. Pope's Batman isn't the over-muscled bobybuilder of most comics, he's less muscular but more human. His costume isn't a tight fitting lytex bodysuit, it's wrinkled and slightly rumpled. I love the layout of this page, starting with a medium shot, moving in tightly for a couple close-ups and then pulling way back for a wide shot. Simple, but effective. Great pick-up, congrats!
