Description

This is my first sketch from a comic book artist period. I have connected with a lot of artists in my lifetime but some of the early inspirations were guys like Sean Chen. Valiant was not only an awesome read but they also had the best art when it come to the grounded storytelling vibe. I reached out to Sean randomly for a work project and after interacting with him, found out he was a dayam cool guy. So we decided to try to meet up at NYCC. We tried the first couple days to no avail but on the 3rd day he had a open slot. So instead of heading to the airport, I swung by the con risking missing my flight with the tightest schedule ever. With just 30 minutes to go in and out, I found Sean and had a meaningful conversation with him. At the end of the conversation, he said oh hey Carl I did this for you. I was touched and forever thankful. Cheers to Sean!

Sweet! Sean definitely is a great guy and I love his Iron Man work! One of my very first con commissions/sketches was an Iron Man from him way back in 2009. Congrats!
