DescriptionIt’s no secret I’m a fan of MANIX. The energy he brings to the original art market is unmatched. Not only does he deliver high-quality work, but he also infuses each piece with his personal touch. When it was announced that he would only create a single edition—never to be repeated—of each Key Issue cover on large A3, this was the first cover that came to mind. With the franchise’s success, as much as I love the original, I knew it would be on my “forever out of reach” list. So what’s the next best thing to the original art? A MANIX edition of the piece! Manix’s reinterpretation in his signature style brings a fresh, dynamic energy to one of the most iconic covers of the '90s. It is a very unique take on Deadpool’s first appearance. Given the rarity of the original, this piece is the perfect way to own a standout version of a legendary cover!

Hilarious take-off on New Mutants #98 by Manix Abrera! I love all the Manix recreations...er...re-interpetations...I've seen! Every one of them has shown that characteristic Manix wit and style. This is one of the best of them. I love this image of Deadpool in his first appearance! Surrounding him are the familiar faces of the New Mutants team! My favorties on this cover are the Domino and the Cable! But all of them are terrific! Great work by the guy who's fast becoming everybody's favorite comic book artist! Fantastic pick-up, Carl, congrats!

It's such a clasic issue so the bar is immediately set high for Manix. He clears it without batting an eye. All of the hand lettering is just a wonderful bonus.
