DescriptionOk… so if you are an X-men fan.. there are a few stories you may consider to be the greatest of all time… Days of Future Past comes to mind as does the Dark Phoenix saga.. maybe Age of Apocalypse? It is all debatable.. but one thing that should not be debated is that The graphic novel God Loves Man kills is amongst them. The story is hard hitting and encompasses the biggest and most serious story the mutants face… Claremont at his best and Brent Anderson is masterful on this one. I have been looking for a page from this book as long as I have been collecting original art. And finally I have one! And a wonderful one at that, no costumes but still one of the most memorable pages as Prof X almost breaks.. the story has nearly destroyed everything Charles has always stood for and this is the culmination of that… it took some sacrifice to get it (traded pieces dear to me) but could not be happier. Only 60 or so pages exist and speaking to some other X-men collectors only 20 or so have ever surfaced so incredibly happy to have this one in my hand!Social/Sharing |

Stunning page from a seminal story. Congrats. Took me years to find one as well.

You have landed the metaphorical great white whale, an objective relentlessly pursued but difficult to achieve. Congratulations of the highest order. That one is a unicorn rarely seen.

It's fantastic that a single issue can encapsulate all the philosophy and ideas of who the X-Men are, why they exist, and what they mean to the grander scheme in the world at large. It may not have been as slick as Byrne or colorfully bold as Cockrum, but Brent Anderson brought the realism and emotion into the pages. He was able to show the persecution and prejudice to minorities, the demagoguery and facism that stokes these fears and paranoia in the public, and how even those being looked down upon are human and have an inner nobility to know to do right when called upon.

Oh wow, I know you are over the moon with this one Jason! Congrats on landing such a key piece of X-men history. Love the page - the inks have a level of grit that really worked with the story.

Stellar example from an epic, and influential book. Definitely my favorite X-Men story. Check out my gallery for a rather finished color prelim to the cover. Congrats, and thanks for sharing!

A huge score. Right up there with the Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past.
