DescriptionExcalibur is one of my favorite x titles and Alan Davis is one of my favorite artists… and neither of those things would be true without the original British Captain Britain series by Davis . It is where the redesign happened and Megan became a thing… now I didn’t read it until much later when it was collected in the US but you can see the direct build to what became excalibur. So when I had the opportunity to purchase this title splash from a key story I jumped!! My friend James says it’s too much tree . But i think he is wrong on this one.. I think the tree is gorgeous .. and Cap and Meggan look amazing and the drawn in title adds so much to the page.. truly wall worthy for me!! And oh.. she’s petting a lion!! Alan draws a mean 🦁… actually Alan Draws a mean everything!Social/Sharing |

I have a fever, and the only prescription is more tree!
Good looking, J!

It's coming home, I've paid on time
Now I've got to know Davis splash is all mine
If you received my letter telling you that zelle is free
Then you'll know just what to do
If you sell to me, when you ship to me
Whoa, find a Captain Britain 'round the ole oak tree
It's been tree lion fears, is it still worthy?
If I don't see that Meggan's round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on Davis, forget about luck, got the splash that's key
If I don't see a Captain Britain 'round the ole oak tree

Superb Davis splash. His Captain Britain work was truly special. Plus you can never have enough tree.

The splash is stunning as it is, perfectly in line with the "look and feel" of the orginal series and the early issues of Excalibur. Very rare and exquisite find, well done!

Stunning artwork! Old school artistry in my opinion. You don't see pages like this anymore.

You know I'm right there with you on Davis and Captain Britain, J! Love this page, with multipe suh-weet headshots of him. Incorporate the tree (yes, agree on the tree!) and the title lettering and you got sublime overall image, indeed. Congrats!
