DescriptionI’ve always had a soft spot for those Proudstar boys… John got the short end of the New X-men stick… but luckily we had a little brother to fill the void! James Proudstar , Thunderbird 2 , Warpath, Proudstar … what ever you want to call him has become a big part of the X universe… so I am very happy to be able to ad an action packed page from his first appearance… I believe there is only a panel or two of him appearing prior to this page. Sal Buscema who was SO under appreciated for so long is finally getting his due.. and this is a great example of the work he was putting into the world in the early 80s. This issue was actually the first appearances of the whole hellions team… so we get some Roulette on here too!Social/Sharing |

Whne it comes to roulette or passenger 57, "Always bet on Sal." Teenagers being teenagers is what these early New Mutants issues embodied and pulled in X-Men readers who got a kick out of seeing the school being ran by Professor X like in early X-Men issues. These legacy characters also served to reward longtime readers who connected the dots like the Proudstar name.

Fantastic piece of NM history, it's a good looking page as well. Especially the Sunspot art. Congrats on this really great page.

Sal Buscema's great. Managed to snag three Hulk pages by him recently. Will update when the last two arrive.
