I�m not the best at keeping up with modern artists as I don�t actively read anymore.. I do have a couple buddies who keep me updated on some things as they know I like to get some modern stuff of characters I love. But Chris Stevens fell through the cracks, and I had never heard of him until OAX last year . He was there but not knowing him before the show I didn�t look to get any of his art. But as the show progressed .. as I kept looking at peoples new acquisitions, one of the names I kept hearing as I saw amazing pieces they got there was Chris Stevens. So after that I became a fan. At that point I thought I�d like to add something of his to the collection! Published if possible and X-men related preferably � a few months later my buddy Mike M was thinning out his collection after a grail as we all do. And he showed me this cover� and 🤩.. it was perfect! I didn�t know the story (got filled in later Prof X was in phantomex body? Old man Logan was a thing??) but the image was striking. A movie poster looking image� with hints of 007 and steranko in my opinion! The structure of the cover is just so creative.. integrating different sized figures� shadowed and none.. objects and effects.. then the inking and shading are right up my alley! It�s already framed (and that�s not common for modern! ) moral of the story.. even if you are a grumpy old collector like me.. keep up on the new stuff if you can because some of it is amazing.

You got the inspirations correct. That's a Bond opening seqence with sex and danger on a cover. Stevens' flawlessly dynamic art makes you want to just pick one of those songs to put on while looking at this.

Solid cover from Stevens, I think alot of what he is doing now should be picked for covers as well - nice addition

I really enjoy Chris Stevens work myself and this is a fantastic cover piece...the shadow and bullseye stuff def evokes Bond/Spies/Steranko vibes...great pickup Jason!

Yeah, great composition. And there's a nice contrast here between his insane level of detail, and more restrained shadow work.

Hell yeah! Gorgeous piece. The shadow work here is truly second to none. I'm also not an active reader so glimpses of "Who the hell did that?" are a treat. I'll remember the name and be on the hunt for an eXciting piece of my won from Mister Stevens. Congrats!

Total movie poster feel with that James Bond vibe...gotta love that kinda composition...pair that with the lines and details and the textures that Chris renders with 'em?! Astonishing image all around, man, congrats!
