DescriptionThe Age of Apocalypse threw all comic readers at the time on our ear! I’ve written this before but long before the internet as we know it now.. readers had no clue what was going on .. our beloved books had new titles and our favorite characters where the same but not the same .. what is a common occurrence in 2025 was new and fresh back then! So whenever I have a chance to grab a piece from the original I try to.. X-Calibur was Nightcrawler and his families story brought to life by Warren Ellis and Ken Lashley! Young Ken was forging his way but doing some great work.. love what he did hear with AOA Mystique.Social/Sharing |

X-Calibre was such a Brit book already, having Warren Ellis write this AOA made us think Ken Lashley was also a British import!

Cypher was dead for over seven years at this point, so it was nice seeing him used well, even if only briefly, during the Age of Apocalypse. Who would have thought then that thirty years later they'd turn him into the heir of Apocalypse who's the catalyst for another all-encompassing alternate version of the X-Men storyline?
