DescriptionThe wife and I had an idea to fill a larger wall space, and once the idea was formed, I knew there was only one woman for the job.I've long admired Arantza's work on CAF and I reached out to her late in 2022. After an amiable email exchange, we settled on a scene and Arantza got to work. She was very congenial to work with, sharing updates and progress pics. I received the completed work after about 10 months. WOW! This piece is absolutely luminous in person. The dichotomy of light and shadow acting as a perfect metaphor for our band of tortured creatures on their quest and, quite frankly, for the trials of modern life. Our goals and ambitions tempered by harsh realities, if you will. Bill the pony was always a favorite of mine, and I'm glad that he is included. 44" x 21" - Oil on canvas - Sorry, the picture really doesn't do the work justice. Update - This piece took second place in the Infected by Art Vol. 12 competition! Thanks to Chris S. for letting me know! Social/Sharing |

Most people think that walls are built to keep the elements out and hold the ceiling up, but you and your wife know exactly what a wall is made for. To display masterpieces like this one. Congrats! I can only imagine how good this looks in person.

Must be amazing in person, man. The gang, or fellowship rather, is all here. Love the shaded vs sunlit contrast. Congrats!

Pretty! Such an inspired painting. Really interesting composition and subtle color and lighting choices. It's a beautiful and calm scene, but looking closer at the figures (and recalling the story of course), there is an expectation of emergency and adventure

Put on passage way shoes and I
Charted the plains
Touched down in the land of the One to Rule
In the middle of Arantza's paints
Trouble you see Gimili
Won't you look Arantza please?
Yeah, I got a first class Tokien
But I'm as cool as the world can be
Then I'm walking Caradhras
I was walking with my feet ordeal cliff conceals
Walking Caradhras
But do I really feel the cold in feet?

Arantza has been producing magnificent fantasy art for decades, so it's really no surprise how beautifully she handled the job. A great commission, but made great by the equally great decision on which artist you chose! Congratulations to you and your wife!

Wow. This is amazing. My eye is drawn to Legolas. He's so bright! And Gandalf's hat! Such amazing colors everywhere.

Oh wow, this is beyond beautiful! I'm a huge Lord Of The Rings fan, and to have a scene like this portrayed so gorgeously by Arantza and hanging on your wall, well, it must just bring you so much joy. Amazing grab.

When I saw Arantza post this on FB, I was wondering who it was for. Congrats!! Stunningly beautiful piece. A collection isn't complete these days without something by Arantza!

Arantza Sestayo is amazing. It's thrilling to see her painting based on of one of my favorite books of all time. The painting is perfect. The characters are spot on. The amount of time and energy that it took to create this work is hard for me to imagine. But I am very happy that you and your family can enjoy this masterpiece every day. Serious congrats.
