Description

With a name like Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, you might think M.A.S.K. was some sort of Proud Boys outfit. In fact, they were the good guys, using their fantastical masks and 2-in-1 vehicles to fight the forces of mayhem.

Under the leadership of Matt Trakker (pictured here, but masked), the team operated out of a secret gas station that they probably bought from the Airwolf going out of business sale.

This was the first piece I got by John, and I really was feeling the composition and futuristic handling of the image. Technically, there is some screen tone used on the eyepiece, but the rest is hand hatched.

I like the abstract feel to this piece, without the context from the description/title (and Derek's sharing of the intro clip) I may not have known what it was - yet the art is interesting to look at even without that knowledge.

A wonderful precursor to what John would eventually do with his atmosphere series. And M.A.S.K rocked my face off for being the mighty power that can save the day.

The combination of crosshatching and intersections has me wondering if I should have taken the last left, or is it the next one? I would ask the guy in the M.A.S.K., but he looks just as confused. Also, your description made me laugh but that smile quickly went away when I realized John Amor is not messing around! Congrats on another nice one!
