DescriptionSo I'm posting up something very special today. This is just one of my favorite pieces in my whole collection. I got to pick up the issue from Dan and Yams at HeroesCon this weekend. Holy crap am I stoked over this art!Meeting Daniel was just an absolute treat. He is just as you'd expect him to be from both reading his books, and from hearing him on the Felix Comic Art Podcast. He is one of the most genuine guys you'll ever meet. He's humble, and he also really loves talking to his fans about their art. It was really cool to see how he was talking to these young kids who were bringing up their Murder Falcon fan art for Dan. Truly just a nice, nice guy. I loved meeting him. The whole experience adds even more to owning this art. Murder Falcon has been one of my absolute favorite comics to come out in like the last decade. I think it's a complete oversight that it wasn't nominated for an Eisner this year. I'm hopeful that since it was published in 2018, and 2019... that they'll get their shit together and put it up for nomination next year. I think that this ending issue is one of the best endings in comics, period. The whole series, starting at about issue 4 made me well up with tears, and like have these Metal moments of fist raising, spine tingles. But this issue made me cry like an 8 year old who's lost his puppy. So, Thank you Daniel Warren Johnson for being you, and putting yourself into your work. Murder Falcon wasn't just a great comic book in my eyes. This comic book came to me at a time when I've been examining what I want to do with the rest of my life, and thinking about what's truly important for it. And that's just a huge theme of this book... finding the inspiration to focus on what's important, and great about life through all of the difficulties that life sends our way. I also want to thank Felix Lu, Yams, and Felix Comic Art for being so awesome through the entire business side of this interaction. And just a shout out in general to Felix for always being on point, doing right by both we collectors and the artists he represents. And for continuing to do so even when times get difficult. I'll add to the post about the art its self over the course of the week. Couple of notes here. Daniel's favorite page from this issue is the first one. I really like how it mirrors the last page of issue 7, and continues that building idea of Brooticus / Jake / Murf really steeling themselve's to do the impossible. I agree that it is a Fantastic page. My Favorite page is the "Hey Jude" page.. it's the page where the waterworks really start flowing for me. All of the people of the world who have the least reason to be positive and optimistic... singing their hearts out in the name of positive optimism to destroy doubt / fear / negativity. That's why I chose it to be the main image for this posting. Enjoy the scans. **EDIT*** apparently I can only add 6 additional pics, which is super annoying, because it means that I can't just post them all in one posting for a complete issue. So, I'll post the scans in chunks of 7 images for you guys to take a look at. For the moment here are some of the highlight pages. Also an interesting tidbit. You'll notice that Anne was missing from the opening page, and that's different from the comic book. She was added in after. If I'm getting the conversation right that i had with Daniel: she became a member of Brooticus after he drew this page. So that means he drew this opener to the final issue before fleshing out that part of the story... and that's just a really interesting view into that creative process. Daniel drew / cutout / taped-in Anne from another board for me (the comic was edited digitally). Social/Sharing |

Wow! Incredible addition to your collection! I was really hoping to own a page from the final issue of this incredible series, but part of me is really glad to see that it got to stay together as a complete story. Congrats on a truly jaw dropping set of pages!

Had no idea you posted this! Somehow missed it. Thanks for the kind words, and congrats again on adding this to your collection. As much as I understand most fans wish that issues would get broken up so that they have a shot at a page, some issues NEED to be kept whole. This was one of them. Enjoy, Keith!

Thanks Felix, those kind words are true, and I agree this book stays whole for a very, very long time.

WOW! Just...WOW! What an incredible finale to a high-water mark in recent comic story-telling. Everything from the art, dialog, colors just set this title so far apart from everything else that it really does deserve an award of some kind. Even if the powers that be decide not too recognize it, hopefully Daniel knows how we as the fans feel about his impactful, perfectly crafted piece of comic history. I related to a lot of what you said in your write-up Kieth, wont go into details here but MF has come along at a time where perspective is needed and the things that sometimes get taken for granted are becoming more and more appreciated. As for Felix, well I can understand why someone like Daniel Warren Johnson would want to be represented by Felix. He's always been a fan himself and that quality shows in the way he deals with customers (which is why he gets so much of my business lol). All gushing aside, seriously CONGRATULATIONS! Despite my selfish wish to have my own piece of it, Felix is absolutely right, if there was any issue of this series that needed to stay intact, this is the one. You have a real gem sir. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Super congrats on a great complete issue. As much as I would have liked to have gotten a page with RJD on it, as many of have said this issue belongs complete. I'm a big fan of turning points and emotional pages and this book was chock full of them.

What! How did I only just notice you have this? If you had nothing else in your collection, you'd have a great collection owning this. Agree with all your comments. I think I got teary reading every issue but made the big mistake of reading this one in public. For a book called Murder Falcon! It's just beautiful beautiful work.

Omg it was such a great series! I still cry when I flip through the art, or when I read it. My favorite comic in a long time!

Wow...just wow. 2 things i love about this issue, how DWJ took his time telling the ending. He really brings the hammer down, and I also love that you own the entire issue. You are the steward of this slow pulled heartstring...oh the sound it makes.
