Description“I’m not blind …”Issue 1 really started with a big one-two punch. It started with a great fight scene with FFF, and dick-head Thor grabbing the limelight. But this page was the Haymaker of the issue. Even Daniel usually can’t make me cry in a first issue, but he definitely did this time. Such a sad and iconic moment in his latest series. It really infused a lot of heart into the whole series. I’m SO excited to have snagged my first / top request (out of 9 that day). Congratulations to everyone else who scored big in the last day of SDFC! For those who are interested in looking under the hood, so to speak... I put the piece up to my computer screen because I was real curious as to what I could see under the pasted up / published drawing of Bill in the bottom panel. It's real interesting / cool. you can see that the original drawing had a much more billowed cape vs the droopy version that he decided on. And, you can also see that in the original he had a less sad posture, with his hand grasping the back of his neck, instead of the chosen version where he's buried his face in his hand. I definitely like the edit by Deedubs on this one. The sadder visage of BRB really added to how the moment hits you. Real interesting stuff. Social/Sharing |

This was also one of my top choices from issue 1. A really heartbreaking emotional moment that definitely stood out. More than that, its the emotional stakes and heart of the series! Congrats on snagging such an awesome page from the series and for sharing it on here!

The heaviness is felt more on the whole body. Rather than strain to keep his head up, he gives in to bury his face down.

That third panel is raw emotion that only DWJ can pull off. And I love the extra forensics work you did to see what's under the paste up. Always cool to know what the first pass was. Like others have said, I think he made the right choice with his changes. So happy for you, Keith! Huge congrats!

Unique and spectacular page from this outstanding series! DWJ is as good at these heart-wrenching scenes and quiet moments as his with the action and mayem. The storytelling is perfect. Thanks for posting what you uncovered beneath that bottom panel!

The first panel might steal the scene, but what makes this page special - in my opinion - is what's depicted in panels 2-4. The changes in focal length, the expressions, and the quick pace all set up the emotional devastation that's showcased in the fifth panel. Congrats on the amazing page!

The story telling on this page is masterful. It hits so hard the awkwardness in the first 3 panels flowing into the complete and utter sorrow, and sif staring down the hall as he slumps away. So great!
