DescriptionAnother beautiful example of high-octane action-storytelling from the Salvador Larroca / Matt Fraction ‘Invincible Iron Man’ run! Gadzooks!Under orders, Pepper’s Rescue armor stands aside so that Pepper can deal with Madame Masque the old fashioned way… until Masque’s gun is brought to bear on Pepper in panel three. BOOM! There’s Rescue in a flash, grabbing evil by the nape of its neck! Take that, evil! (As always, beautiful published colors by Frank D’Armata!) Another Christmas gift from a dear friend, and I am so very, very grateful. Thank you once again, Mav! I’m not worthy! Social/Sharing |

I've always liked Larocca's style. It in the Yu vein, where you have great detail and grit, but inks were strategically left out to get a clean super-readable look. Love the windup and punch in the middle panels. And it's a great battle page with Pepper, too. I wonder if we see her in the movies when the new Avengers form? Again, you have some great friends, Jason. Sweet page!

I really love Madame Masque, she has such a great look! But what's up with Riri Williams and her alien shaped helmet? What about the Iron Bra? Why do you keep calling her Pepper? So many questions!!! A wonderful gift for a wonderful man, enjoy it!

Rescue me
Take out her firearms
Rescue me
This has Larroca’s charm
Madame Frosty
Don’t you move
I need you
Armor love too
Come on and rescue me
Come on, fight me in panel three
Come on, Tony and Rescue me
'Cause I need your Pepper spice
Sal you see draws so cleanly
Rescue me
Come on and take apart
Take your love and send me every art
'Cause of Tony
Fighting mood
I need you
And your gift too
Come on and Rescue me

Nice example from one of my favorite Iron Man runs, and comic runs in general, as a matter of fact! Really liked Larroca's more minimalist style with the B&W art...you really appreciate the line work and inks even more that way. Also let D'Armata show out on colors as well. Congrats!

Cinematic and raw. Fights are rarely lovely, majestic ballet -- they're brutal, sudden, and prone to loss of momentum/control. Larocca gets this... and without that Rescue armor swooping in, who knows what happens next. Helluva page, my friend!

Larroca certainly demonstrated a strong knack for depicting armor during this run. Very cool page!
