Description21 x 25.5 boardThis piece is enough to make me consider never getting another NGE commission. This took a while but only because Troy puts so damn much into each and every commission request he takes on. I had actually initially requested a Road Warrior commission. Troy saw that I was a huge fan of Evangelion and asked if I would like that instead as he was a huge anime/manga fan as well. I was thrilled and said ok. Here's what we get. Like James Harren, Troy went with the Unit-01 vs. Zeruel. Zeruel was the most devastating Angel, actually infiltrating NERV HQ. Troy executed this piece to perfection. The relaying of scale and size along with key touches like the telephone/electricity pole (a key visual cue used repeatedly by Anno) and finally the ridiculous detail. There's just no way any image of this can reflect the detail and impression you get from being inches away. So damn happy with this. Thanks a million to Troy and Cam. Social/Sharing |

I'm a latecomer to NGE, but after devouring the series and the movies recently I'm all in. Just a supremely detailed and majestic piece by Nixey.

The textures in this are unlike anything I've seen. Really cool commission! I could get lost in this for days

It's another master illustration that takes the game to another level. The look is fluid and naturalistic and does not compromise in employing his signature style.

First, let me just say that I don't know the artist and I don't know the characters. So I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking at. BUT, I have to tell you Jason, this is just one of the most amazing and beautiful things I've seen in quite a while. And even though I would much rather be studying this in person, I really do have to thank you for providing such a nice, big, scan of the piece. I could look at that picture for hours. And if I was holding the actual piece in my hands, I could probably stare at it for days. Absolutely incredible. It's art on another level.

This is marvelous! I wonder if Troy ever studied printmaking. The way he buildes the blacks in his pieces look like old master etchings. Lucky switch in subject! Love it!
