Description

Great prelim by illustrator extraordinaire Frank X. Leyendecker, brother of legendary J.C. Love the Cracker Jacks theme, and the apparent scene of WW I soldiers at Christmas. Cracker Jacks hired Frank Leyendecker early in their existence — cool to see such an early image of an iconic American product. Watercolor and mixed media, 12” x 8” on board.

A terrific piece of history, Ben, and I love that even in a prelim, Leyendecker is thinking stylistically.
