DescriptionMark Texeira's painting skills are celebrated enough (and justly so...) not to need extra praise from my side.But it's when I stumbled on that stunning Valkyrie portrait that I realized how talented he was on pencils also! A board-size dynamic rendition of the character, faithful to John Buscema's vision when he created her for the pages of the Avengers. It's a wonder to behold! Social/Sharing |

As only the most talented artists are able to do, Tex can "paint" with inks or even with mere pencils. Lovely piece!

Tex is known for his paints but he's a also a beast when it comes to the pencil! Awesome rendition of Valkyrie here and I love that he used a semi side angle. And that face...beautiful. Congrats!

Stunning! Love this pencil drawing by Mark Texeira of Valkyrie! I knew Tex was extremely talented as a painter, I didn't know he could handle a pencil with as much dexterity as a brush! This pencil drawing really captures the beauty and the majesty of the warrior goddess. Traditionally, the Valkyrie would appear over battlefields and choose which of the fallen were worthy to be taken to Valhalla. This Valkyrie looks like she could handle that assignment. Fabulous pick-up, congrats!
