DescriptionTales of Suspense #95 twice-up cover. Iron Man battles Grey Gargoyle. There are not many twice-up large art Marvel Superhero covers in existence, probably about 200. I’m so happy to be an owner of one!Social/Sharing |

Great takedown! Two points and the match as Silver Age Marvel has always and will always have cultural significance beyond the medium itself. The Colan art depicts Iron Man larger than and bolder with that dominating pose that you can only get here.

On fire. That would explain why his avatar looks so cheesed off. Losing the war could have that effect too.

A stunning twice up cover of epic proportions! The Iron Man figure is so dynamic (not to mention LARGE) and the Grey Gargoyle is such a classic Silver Age villain. What a great combo! This has always been one of my favourite covers from the Tales of Suspense run. Kudos!

2up Marvel covers are even rarer than you think, West, and very few of the Iron Man ones can match this one!

Stunning pick-up! Gene Colan was one of the greatest artists of the Silver Age! This cover shows his uncanny ability to draw characters in the most dynamic manner imaginable! Iron Man looks so heroic here! Fabulous cover!

Amazing part of your fine collection West.
Only thing greater than having this posted to CAF would be the opportunity to view this beauty in person!
Congratulations are indeed in order.

You're happy to be owner of one. I'm unhappy to be owner of none. Take pity on poor Peter, and in true seasonal spirit (as in the cheesiest of festive book and film fare) hand deliver it my door as a present. No tiny Tim in the house but have two tiny Toms (thats cats to you). Quickly, before the spirits of past, present and future come a calling. Lol

Amazing cover - Colan and Tuska are my back-issue-box nostalgia artists for me as that is where I found all my Iron Man art as a young comic collector/reader. I remember this one well - definitely made me want to buy and read the book. Congrats on another magnificent addition to your collection!

Colan can be a little wonky at times in terms of figures, but to me, that's a lot of the appeal! Nice stylization and you know it's him when you see it! Totally the case with Iron Man here. Congrats!
