DescriptionAn ill-fated cover presented by "The Master of Macabre", in his gothic style that echoes the qualities of a classic fright film. This work was done just a year after Wrightson co-created the muck creature Swamp Thing in House of Secrets #92, and month before co-creating Destiny in Weird Mystery Tales #1, a character which would later be used in the work of Neil Gaiman, who said "Wrightson was the first comics artist whose work I loved." No matter the genre, the late Wrightson's impact on the comics community will be felt for decades to come.I first saw this cover on a dealers wall in 2014. The second picture is from 2014 when I first saw it. Only took 8 years to get it! SOOO HAPPY!!! Social/Sharing |

Now you're just showing off. But that's okay. At least you're not charging admission. LOL! Congrats on this gem by one of the true Masters.

A macabre masterpiece! No one sets the scene and executes on horror like Wrightson. Jus t love the sublime inks. Great example, West. Congrats!

You won't be so happy when you wake up in the same position, with a similar looking bunch of comic art fans who want this at any cost.

This cover is one of the finest reasons Wrightson was known as the Master of the Macabre. Your joy at acquiring it shines through your description, which makes it even better!

Huge fan of The Studio guys, and my favorite art book ever. That was my intro to the Master of Macabre, Bernie Wrightson. His cross hatching is legendary. Fantastic example of one of the best.

Gorgeous and historic! Love the shadows and all the scary mugs and skulls on this classic cover, and the radiating folds at the bottom increase the visual pull to the victim at the focal point

Dude, this is deliciously ghoulish in all the right ways. And even cooler that you managed to get it after such a long time. Congrats!

If I am being completely honest, I never read House of Secrets. That being said, this is a really really cool looking cover. Definitely caught my eye in the feed. Congrats on snagging something you've been chasing for this long! Definitely a piece worthy of the effort!

Great Wrightson cover! Classic example of the horrifying imagery that Wrightson knew how to bring to life. I am soooo jealous!
