A little less scandalous by cropping out the gentleman waiting. Still has enough sex appeal to make it irresistable to the waiting audience.

OMG, another Charles Binger original that survived?!?! Brian, you're killing me now, with all the secrets that are squirreled away in your vintage paperback art collection! So fabulous to discover this, not only because I'm a huge Binger fan, but because it allows us as fans to finally see just how much was cropped out for publication, 70 years after seeing nothing but the tight, closed in shot of the two ladies.

And it's 30' x 36" making it the biggest painting in my collection!
His originals are so beautiful in person.
They were definitely playing up the lesbian undertones in the novel by cropping the paperback that way...

Oh, cool! Yeah, I have two of them that are around that same size as well. One from his early, painterly period like this on and one fro mwhen he changed styles to a more graphic approach and signed those with the script "Charles" signature.
Yeah, playing up the lesbian undertones was definitely the reason they cropped it the way they did.
