DescriptionMy favorite time of year is Halloween. I had done an illustration of my favorite “Horror Hosts” from comics, television, and movies. This is my companion piece, featuring my favorite things that go bump in the night! Displayed prominently is the “Queen of Halloween,” Cassandra Peterson, a.k.a. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. She was the hostess of B-movie horror films on her show “Movie Macabre,” starting in 1981. She has since appeared in commercials, comic books, advertisements, music videos, and movies. Elvira can still be seen today on her website, in new books, and at conventions. Behind her are my favorite monsters. I included the pig-headed farmer from “Motel Hell”. If you haven’t seen that movie, it has an ending reminiscent of Charlton Heston’s “Soylent Green.” Enjoy!1. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark 2. Boris Karloff, Frankenstein 3. Bela Lugosi, Dracula 4.
