DescriptionBefore there were sound movies there were a small number of sing a long cartoons done by the Fleischer studios. These tended to be animation with a final sequence where people would sing along with the bouncing ball. In the early ones that was often done with black and white painted cartoon background. The ball and words would move but the image would remain stationary. This is one of those early background images possibly for Annie Laurie (given the Scottish motif) but I haven't found the actual cartoon . This is airbrush and paint on board about 13 by 10 1/2 inches - note damage to tips of board which can be matted out.I own it so it is also tradeable. This is almost 100 years old a rare example of a popular early cartoon animation Social/Sharing |
