DescriptionFrom 'Glory Day' issue. In the lead up to Inferno, there were some great vignettes showing Madelyne Pryor's road to becoming the Goblin Queen. From my favorite era of X-men - in the Outback. Social/Sharing |

Oh man, I remember reading this issue when it first came out and this whole dream walking sequence just blew my mind. Silvestri is so good.

Claremont, Silvestri, and Rubinstein add to the aboriginal dreamtime mythology with Madeline's travels. They even mimic aboriginal dot paintings with the imagery used on the page leaving the human figure blank and the environment to have the power to shape the person.

Let her name be recorded in every place of honor. Let her take the law she served so well to those who have it not. Let her be written in our hearts and our memories forever.

Wowza! What a fabulous Uncanny X-Men page by Marc Silvestri and Joe Rubinstein! I loved this era of X-Men (But then,I love a LOT of eras of X-Men) when Silvestri was doing some amazing work on the team. I love the way this page opens with Gateway watching Madelyne Pryor in her dreamscape. The symbolic road she is walking leads to all sorts of delicious mayhem for the X-Men and it was fun to watch it all unforld. Beautiful work by Silvestri. Gateway looks absolutely intriguing here. And the final three panels of the "mannequin" face melting down to Madelyne Pryor's face is chilling. Fabulous inks by Rubinstein throughout. This is a very cool era of X-Men history right here in this one panel page! Amazing pick-up, congrats!

A blank slate recreated for sinister purposes, such an amazing find. Huge congrats on this epic beauty that had a lot of play in character history. Beautiful art as well. Cheers!

Well, that's one way to find yourself on a journey. I really need to read this run at some point, but the transformation/reveal in the last three panels is pretty awesome. Congrats!
