Description

Generally speaking, Common Elements matchups are intended to include characters who share some commonality, but are otherwise unrelated. When I first thought of pairing Sersi and Iron Man, I had concern about breaking that convention, given that both heroes had been Avengers.

I verified, however, that Sersi's tenure with Marvel's premier superteam (as chronicled in Avengers vol. 1, issues 350-375) did not overlap at any point with one of Tony's active stints on the team. So as far as I'm concerned, the Common Element is good to go. And, since it's my theme, I think I have the authority to make the call. :)

Tom Grummett, one of those artists who always draws comics the way I see them in my head, turns in another fantastic rendition. Thanks to Byron Hamm at Hamm's Original Art for shepherding this third Grummett CE entry.

The artwork by Grummett here is awesome, as usual! I'm not a Game of Thrones viewer, so maybe that's why I'm not understanding the common element here. Regardless, this is a killer piece!

Hey, Damon -- Game of Thrones has a main character named Cersei (spelled differently, but pronounced the same as our favorite Eternal/Avenger, Sersi) and a whole family of characters surnamed Stark. Hence, the CE here.
