Great minds think alike. :) https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=239320
And the comic art world can always benefit from more Darryl Banks and Ron Frenz, two tremendously underappreciated artists.
She'll bring all your dreams alive for you.
This is the thing, and all of the things. A piece truly to end all pieces! (Although I hope it won't.)
Thanks, Ben! I really enjoyed your blog post on Geof's Dr. Strange run.
Hey, Damon -- Game of Thrones has a main character named Cersei (spelled differently, but pronounced the same as our favorite Eternal/Avenger, Sersi) and a whole family of characters surnamed Stark. Hence, the CE here.
I'm trying to type words, and I just can't come up with any that are superlative enough! This right here is what great comic art commissions are all about. Another triumph in the Owens tradition!
I think the hair was what caught my eye first. :) Thanks, Dave!
Ben is one of the most difficult characters, I think, for artists to draw well. McGuinness does him as beautifully as anyone working today. Great addition!
If only the great Damon Owens had been in charge of these now-dead universes, they'd be alive today! Killer concept, and knockout pencils by McDonnell!
As Eddie Murphy said in The Golden Child, "Nothing wrong with my Yang." Of course, he was referring to this excellent sequential artwork. (What did you *think* he was talking about?) Another triumphant return for a sadly overlooked hero!
Mitch does beautiful work, and here's more proof. Lovely addition to your collection!
I can’t help much with the artist ID, but that is one smashing cover.
Yet another OML triumph! Samnee brings it on this one. Awesome stuff!
Bob Hall decked this one! (Um... I'll just slink out the back door now.)
Nice indeed! (And the fancy-schmancy new comments interface is pretty slick, too.)
Nice piece! Scott always does terrific work, and his accompanying notes are almost worth the price of admission by themselves.
Wait, there's an Iron Throne in this? I must have missed it because I got... um... distracted. ;)
Wanda belongs on the throne, for sure. What a lovely creation by Lan Medina!
It takes courage to follow a legend like Moebius, but Sheldon and Joe prove themselves up to the task. Another OML triumph!
Tuska was an underrated talent, and this piece demonstrates that talent perfectly. Fantastic gift!
I can't really type right now, because my head just exploded all over my keyboard.
The Fraim Bros and old-school heroes go together like peanut butter and jelly, and this piece is one mighty tasty sandwich!
Steranko's cover is one of my all-time favorites. A well-conceived and well-executed OML spin on a legendary image!
Always loved those Agent of SHIELD covers -- and the OML version of this one is stupendous!
Nobody loves Carol more than I do, and I love, love, love this OML! Great cover, great characters, great execution!
There's absolutely nothing sub-amazing about this OML!
Cap's about to lay a Sleeper punch on somebody's Skull! Love the dynamic energy of this OML masterpiece.
Ha! The villain has failed to realize that Tony can't stab himself with a knife because -- wait for it -- he's wearing armor! Villains are so stupid. :D Another terrific OML creation -- love the scenario, the twist, and the fantastic art by Dos Santos!
Hi. Larious. Perhaps the most unexpected OML outcome ever in the history of the series.
No villain ever deserved to get his butt kicked (heh) more than Batroc ze Leapair.
Oh, pshaw. Damon conveniently and humbly leaves out of the narrative all of the many kindnesses, favors, and good turns he's done for me over the years. If we were playing quid pro quo, I would still be several quid short. The truth is, there's no quantifying how stoked I got when I saw this piece come available, knowing how much Damon would enjoy it. Imagining his grinning face when he opened the package? Priceless.
If one were to seek a single word that encapsulates the awesomeness of this artwork, that word would be "Juggernaut"! A potent end to a monumental tour!
Alan Kupperberg is among a number of artists I sincerely regret not commissioning when I had the opportunity. I'm glad that you didn't make that same mistake. An MTIO classic, this one!
I really love the fine details in this OML -- the creases in DD's costume, and all the perfectly delineated individual leaves. Yet another example of why OML stands above the rest in the themed commission field!
Seriously... JG Jones? Once again, the OML Gallery tempts other theme collectors to throw in the towel. Absolutely amazing work of art!
Masterful blend of action and characters. I've always enjoyed Robert's work, and this awesome OML is no exception!
