DescriptionWell, as I said I am just discovering the pleasure of sharing my father's art with this great community, so do not expect too much of a dtailed description or methodical choice of subjects. The ones knowing BROCAL REMOHI will have heard about Taar, his last one in a succession of Viking Fantasy/Barbarian (Conan like if you want, though that'd be a bit unaccurate) heroes. Thsi one was created for Dargaud Editeur between late seventies and mid eighties. 12 albums, that later were released -plus a 13+1th one- by Planeta De Agostini in Spain. They were soft cover, smaller format, B&W -between you and me, bar one or two ambums colored by Brocal himslef, you won't miss the color of original release- and NEW covers! Together with the great "producer" of the series, his good friend Antonio Martin -surely there was a reduced but skilled and passionate crew also- they decided to give a "new air" to covers, with brand new ink drawings to be colored by Jesus Yugo using computer methods. That's it, with the close surveillance of Brocal himself. Nevertheless, this is by no means one of the results of that co-operation. Nope, in fact it's a printed copy in B/W of the drawing, then colored on it (overwriting the print, you know, so it's a painting at all effects, regardless there's pencil or not underneath) to serve as a guide to the colorist. There are even quite valuable hand written notes by Brocal as to how the coloring should be. In the end that was not used to this purpose IIRC. Anywaqy, here it is: acrylics on printed paper guidelines, nice sketch like looks. I love that "roughly finished" air, do you? Thanks for looking Social/Sharing |
