Description

Early Dawnstar drawings and notes by Mike Grell. I don't know much about it. It was purchased by a collector at a show decades ago. I have contacted Mike's people through his website to see if they have any information on it and have not heard back. Unfortunate coffee stain at the top, which, I guess, could be Iron Mike's.
Legion stuff is really hard to find, especially vintage pages. I grew up with the LSH as my favorite characters... I was crestfallen when, simultaneously, comics went up in price to 15 cents, and the Legion left Adventure Comics. When I started buying comics again in 1973 after a few years of abstaining, Mike was just starting with the Legion in Superboy and I was once again hooked.

UPDATE: I have received confirmation from Mike, via his web site, that this is the drawing he showed the editor for design approval.

Prime Mike Grell on one of his most loved creations. I'm with you - the LSH has been my favorite team for more than 50 years.
