DescriptionOriginal painting depicting a maiden encased in ice. Oil on board. Measures 40.6 x 50.8 cm (16 x 20"). Signed and dated by Virgil Finlay in the lower right corner. The artist wrote the date on which he began the painting and its title on the back. At one time owned by Forrest J. Ackerman and displayed in one of the rooms of his legendary Ackermansion. Condition is fine. The painting is framed in its original simple metal frame, which shows light wear. A stunning work with an extraordinary provenance by one of the greatest artists in the science fiction illustration field, winner of the Hugo Award and inductee of the Science Fiction Hall of Fame.Social/Sharing |
