Description

When commissioning an artist to draw a Cap scene, I usually leave the choice of scene up to them. It’s interesting and insightful to see which one they end up choosing.

Had you told me one artist, let alone two, would pick this moment from Captain America: The First Avenger, I would have been surprised. Yet here Mark brings his A game to the very same scene Eoin Marron drew for me a few years ago.

I try to avoid repeat scenes as much as possible, but I really enjoy how Mark’s depiction here takes a completely different approach from Eoin’s. Where Eoin chose to pull the camera back and highlight the action from afar, Mark gets in close and pitches the “camera” on an up angle to add excitement and dynamism. I’ve come to admire Mark’s unique style and I couldn’t be happier with this one.
