I don't even need to say much about this piece, so i'll just re-use what the previous owner had:

This is the cover to the final issue of Black Mirror (Detective Comics #871-881), which was Scott Snyder's first entry into DC comics, and became a New York Times #1 Bestseller. It also marks the final issue of Detective Comics prior to the New 52 reboot in 2011. The series then resumed its original numbering system with Detective Comics #934 in 2016.

For those unfamiliar, The Black Mirror is a psychological thriller which takes place when Dick Grayson takes the mantle of the Dark Knight in Gotham City, as Bruce is running Batman Incorporated at the time. It is the defining chapter of Dick's time as Batman.

IGN calls it, "The definitive Batman comic for the 21st century. Yup, we said it." and "The Black Mirror is the Batman story to beat for the next generation of superhero comics."

It was awarded Stan Lee's award for Best Series, as well as IGN's Best Comic of 2011 award, which provides a great synopsis:

"Scott Snyder, Jock, and Francesco Francavilla sent the original volume of Detective Comics out with a bang in 2011 with their year-long saga of Dick Grayson and Jim Gordon�fs face-off with a city that longs to swallow them whole. Forming the definitive story of Dick's stint as the Dark Knight and creating one of the creepiest, most potent villains of the last decade, the Black Mirror saga wound up being a fitting swan song for DC's namesake series before the New 52 relaunch. Influenced by the seminal Batman tale Year One, this run on Detective Comics will no doubt be seen as an equal to its forbearer in the years to come. If you'e one of the few that hasn't read it yet, you're missing one of the greatest comics of the decade."
