Description

Paul Pope just has a way with Batman. His characterization is uniquely Pope's, while still being grounded in the Batman mythos. This homage to one of the classic Frank Miller pages from the Dark Knight Returns does not disappoint. Again, Pope takes a classic and makes it his own. I love the rooftop vents and chimneys, as well as Carrie by Batman's side, ready to pounce. It's such a pleasure to be able to look closely at the lines created by this famous brush slinger. An immediate classic addition to my Dark Knight Returns collection. Thanks Paul and Felix for making this happen!

Very strong presence of DKR with Pope's redesign that has certain elements distinctive to him applied here. But mostly it's the composition and the attitude it exudes that makes it Pope.
