DescriptionI grew up obsessively reading Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side, to me the greatest comic strips ever made. I recently was watching a video in which Bill Watterson expresses his love for Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, a somewhat short lived strip during the waning years of newspapers that I never read in real time. And I instantly fell in love. It's obvious Richard had a brilliant comedic mind, and his art is seemingly loose and scratchy and half hazard but on closer inspection completely purposeful, bold, fun, flawless and just plain great. If you haven't yet, do your self a favor and check out Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson, who sadly left the world much too early.
