Massimo Carnevale was born in Roma in 1967.
He debuts in 1987 for the �Cio� and �Tattilo� editions, he then makes it as one of the authors of �Eura Editoriale�. He publishes his first cover on the weekly �Skorpio� in 1990 and on the �Lanciostory�. Other than some weekly covers, he is also the cover artist of the monthly �Dago�, �Martin Hel� and �John Doe�.
From 1994 to 1995 he collabs with the monthly �Arthur Jing� of the publishing house �Editrice Cierre�.
He has an artistic partnership with the screenwriter Lorenzo Bartoli with whom he realizes a big part of his works. For Bartoli he draws various stories and short stories. In 2003 was born the first monthly comic �John Doe�, scripted by Bartoli (in pairs with Roberto Recchioni) who elaborates the graphic aspect of the characters and designs the covers as well.
From n. 17 (October 2006) he becomes the cover artist of �Detective Dante�, a Bartoli, and Recchioni�s work as well.
In 2006 it comes out �Garrett� for Edizioni BD - Alta Fedelt� which is a horror western comic and Massimo Carnevale is the official cover artist for this mini-series made of four volumes.
For the American market, under the label �Vertigo�, starting from n.23 he realizes the cover of �Y - L'ultimo uomo sulla Terra� published by DC Comics.
In 2007 it starts the collaboration with �Sergio Bonelli Editore� and he realizes �Fuori Tempo Massimo� with the script by Roberto Rechhioni for n�1 of Dylan Dog Color Fest and Dylan Dog n. 280 �Mater Morbi�.
With the scripts of Lorenzo Bartoli he realizes also �Una situazione Pesante� for the Dylan Dog Color Fest Humor.
Always under the Vertigo label in 2007 he illustrates the covers of �Northlanders�. He�s also the cover artist of the Stephen King�s series �The Talisman� of the publishing house �Del Rey�. For the �Dark Horse� he publishes covers for �Terminator 2029� and for �Mass Effect: evolution�. And again for the �Dark Horse� he realizes 12 covers for �Orchid� written by Tom Morello and �Conan The Barbarian� by Brian Wood.
Carnevale has received dozens of awards and recognitions for his activity.
