Luciano Bottaro, Whisky & Gogo. China su cartoncino, cm 33x25.

Luciano Bottaro was born in Rapallo, Italia, on the 16th of November 1931.
He starts writing and drawing comics in 1950 on the pages of the weekly �Lo Scolaro� giving birth to �Aroldo il bucaniere�, �Gi� Polpetta� and �Pon Pon�, a funny little humanized mushroom that will land on �Giornalino� in 1971.
In 1951 he created the pirate �Pepito�, a character that has always been popular even abroad especially in France and the year after he debuts among the Disney authors.
He collaborates intensely with the weekly �Topolino� and other Disney headlines of �Mondadori� until 1968 (and after only occasionally) creating many first-class stories.
At the same time, he gives birth to other various characters, among these there is the elephant �Oscar Nasolungo�, �Whisky & Gogo�, �Postorici�, �Re di Picche� (a fantasy saga inspired by the world of playing cards).
In 1968 he founds the �Studio Bierreci� alongside Giorgio Rebuffi and Carlo Chendi; other important authors will join trying to build an Italian agency of quality.
He also realizes a CD-ROM with a very personal interpretation of �Pinocchio� (Collodi).
He dies in Rapallo, Italia, on the 25th of November 2006.
