So this is my first piece of Italian Movie Poster Art. I got it because after having seen a number of terrific pieces (by this artist whose name would be tough to say 10 times fast - Allensandro Biffingnandi) and which I discovered here on CAF; I decided to try and find one for my very own.

The problem as with a lot of Italian art, are all the naughty bits. This made something 'respectable' and acceptable for hanging in polite company a tad tough to find.

After keeping an eye out for almost a year I found this wonderful poster art at Urania Auction House which had several works by him. This one ended up being the most affordable - my guess being either because the lack of nudity or because this may not be one of Alain Delon's better films. He did a number of great flicks back in the day - but who knows? if you have seen the movie, leave a comment.

BTW: Urania is a European Auction house who are easy to deal with and very friendly. If you ever find yourself considering bidding on their wares, have no fears as they don't make it complicated in the least.

All the action in that movie looks to be smacking and shagging the hot babe against her will. This painting captures none of it, making this the best thing that ever came out from the movie! This has a very cool aesthetic of the time capturing the excitement of the vibrant Italian cinema scene of the time. Glorified and romanticized by the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood movie.

It's nice to see something more serious than his usual erotic fumetti covers, as that stuff was typically done a lot more stylized than this far more realistically painted image.

I'm grateful to see this for two reasons. First, the art is really well done and I love the lighting and detail on the gun amongst many aspects of the painting. Second, I have been hesitant to bid on art from Urania Auction House but now I feel so much better about doing so moving forward. I appreciate that as they really do have great stuff. Great post for so many reasons! Thanks for that and congrats on the great piece of art!

Gorgeous artwork. I posted this on my Facebook page a while back and was seriously tempted to bid. I think it's one of Biffignandi's best paintings.
