DescriptionThis is a big one for me. Age of Apocalypse was one of the final story arcs I read as a teenager in the 90s before going on a decade plus hiatus from comics. When I started getting back into comics I remember this omnibus being released and was amazed at the art by Billy capturing the magic of AoA in his strong imagery. Love the sentinels flying overhead and his incorporation of almost every significant character. This art was used for the AoA poster in 2011 and three omnibus covers from 2012, 2016, 2021. Insanity jam packed into this truly legendary take. Every inch of this drips as crawls with eXcessive power. Congrats on such a biblical score!

All aboard the bus for this omnibus! Everyone you could want that was redesigned in this reality including the ones created just for AOA!

Agreed, my favorites were Cyke and Havoks redesign. Was neat to see characters like Blink, Dark Beast and Holocaust with some staying power.

Man, AoA was also one of the last stories I read in the 90's before my hiatus. Apocalypse is still one of my farvorite villains. That Wolverine missing the hand is also very nostalgic to see again. Congrats on the Amazing cover!

Thanks Myko. I think college and grad school hit at the right time for us. The 80s thru mid 90s were magical times for comics

An excellent cover featuring a cornucopia of characters! Shockingly, you left comics for even longer than I did back in the early 90s! I love pieces that are done to commemorate famous and well regarded storylines of the past, whether they be flashback scenes or as in this case, covers to collected editions, as it's a nice way to get great looking pieces as well as the nostalgia we have for the stories these types of pieces represent, and usually at much more affordable cost than art from the original stories.

Thanks Ruben, I had to look up definition of cornupia. Definitely hits double nostalgia for me, when I stopped collecting in the 90s and to when I got back into collecting in the early 2010s seeing this omnibus.

It's funny that we have very similar eras where we stopped following and reconnected with comics. I'm sure age has a lot to do with it but there was something wonky about the comics coming out soon after AoA. Then I assume the MCU drew a lot of us "old timers" back to the scene. Anyhow... another epic addition to your collection. Congrats!

Thanks Victor, definitely an 80s/90s reader, but the MCU along with Court of Owls, Uncanny xforce drew me back in during the early 2010s for sure. Crazy AoA was more than 25 years ago

Many thanks Dino. While the Dark Phoenix Saga remains my favorite xmen arc, AoA is definitely up there for me in terms of nostalgia and very glad to add this good summative piece

He's Canadian. Deep down under all that anger and hair he has a sense of humour.
