DescriptionFrank MillerSin City: The big fat kill, chapter 4, page 13 I was searching for a while to find the right one. Since the original pages of „The Hard Goodbye“ and „Yellow Bastard“ are not to get, suddenly this beauty came across. Without Marv and Hardigan ok, but this one got Dwight, Guns, Rain, Action, Trench coat, lot`s of inks, everything I could wish for. And not much words, just BLAM BLAM. A wonderful example of a milestone at that time in genre and artwork. I am overwhelmed by the fantastic black and white contrasts of the page. Simply done with blue pencils, black and white inks. Miller had such a amazing career in the comic business. In the beginning he was just a number of artists at Marvel and DC Comics. But in the 1980s Denny O`Neil gave him the chance to re-new DAREDEVIL and BATMAN. And he did. In the early 1990s he wrote ELEKTRA LIVES AGAIN, GIVE ME LIBERTY and HARD BOILED for Sienkiewicz, Gibbons and Darrow. But in 1991, Miller started to create his most important solo project. Responsible for the plot and the artwork, FM decided to keep the series just in black and white. Inspired by Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammet, the great authors of the black series in the American crime novel. Miller drew a fantastic series of crime and hard boiled stories. Sin City was released only at a independent publisher, by the then relatively small Dark Horse Comics. Social/Sharing |

"Dwight, guns, rain, action, a trench coat and lots of ink," looks pretty damn Miller-ific to me.
