I'm such a sucker for the creative use of negative space. I mean I believe that it's fire rising on Thor's body but it's just white Bristol board. So good!

A great one that's more recent, but nonetheless as classic as they come. Coipel's name is associated with epic stories and major company wide crossovers because of the high intensity and stellar quality applied to each of his projects! This one with Thor has the flame effects that Coipel chooses to fully render the effect and gives it a greater and realistic impact than if left for the colorist.

Can't have too much Coipel, Anthony :) I like the textural quality to this one, and Thor's expression definitely communicating that something ain't right! Coipel Thor piece number 5 - will we hit double digits?! ;) Congrats!

Straight fire, and I'm not just talking about Thor. Blazingly cool cover. As was said in one of the other comments, I love how he used the negative space to make those flames. Coipel is so awesome. Very nice addition to your collection. Congrats!

I don't think enough people revere Oliver Coipel's Thor as they should. He's brilliant. Bravo!

Oh, this one is so, so, SOOOOOO good... The "simplicity" of the concept is what makes it so potent, and when that is matched by the focus (and incredible technique) of the execution, you are left with a really special piece. I just love how Olivier depicts everything as washed out here, through the heat-haze. Absolutely superb piece, Anthony! Coipel is a master!
