DescriptionAn Extremely Cool 8-panel page featuring the Good Doctor in his new Duds with his soon-to-be Apprentice, the Librarian from the Bronx, Zelma Stanton as they encounter Mr. Misery, a creation of Strange’s cooked up in his basement to harbor All of his Pain produced by performing his Magic. Love the bubble and Pop! Things cannot go well...Brilliantly scripted by Jason Aaron, Magically Penciled and Colored by Chris Bachalo and Expertly Inked by Tim Townsend!!! Thanks to Hans of Tri-State for working a deal to put this in my hands and Always being a Gentleman. Social/Sharing |

Thank you, Carlo. Indeed, it gives the the visceral feel of the price paid by being Sorcerer Supreme!!!

Too awesome! I need to find a nice Mr. Misery page for my collection.
The detail that Bachalo put into Dr. Strange just shows how perfect of a match it was :-)

Love this excellent page SO much, Mr. Bedwick! Many congrats on an outstanding example from this epic, favorite run. The 'busy-ness' of this is what makes it so much fun - the multiple panels of eyes and "symbioteness" of Mister Misery... and the way the jaws all of a sudden come out of the black goo skin as the good Doctor draws closer - woe betide him if he gets any closer... The understated menace and venom - almost restraint - Mr. M displays towards Doctor Strange in all their interactions in this run (even when - especially when! - Strange's murder was his intent) made for a truly inspired and chillingly terrifying new villain. SO fitting that the "face" of Mr. M is that of a porcelain, cold cast mask. Great character design; wonderful display of menace and Stephen's bravery and heroism in the face (and jaws) of it.
Such great character moments and "acting" realized by this terrific art team here. Sincere and heartfelt congrats!

Jason, Much Obliged for your ebullient, evocation of this page and the overall story arc. My Fave thus far in the Doctor Strange Canon and one that is so visceral in its depiction of the price Stephen has paid for using his powers as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme🙏🏼

(plus Doctor Strange blowing a bubble in the face of all this, with no real magical power left to him. Now THAT'S bad-ass. :) )

Loved this run on the Doc. So unique in story and art - the Aaron/Bachalo team definitely left their mark on the character! This arc particularly, with Mr. Misery, was so uniquely good visually. Case in point! I got a page myself from it that I love. Big congrats, Filmore!

Thank you, K. I agree and thought it was one of the Most Interesting Story Arcs done for the Good Doc. Your page is Superb. Had I not acquired this tasty piece, I would be knocking at your CAF with generous offers!!!!

Just was swinging past for my bi-monthly visit to this page and had to leave another comment. :) Love the eight, identically-sized panels and how Chris mixes up the action, vantage point, and POVs to make it truly feel like a dynamic and action-packed layout. Incredible inking texture, too (duh - it's Townsend). An epic and fantastic page! Congrats again!
