DescriptionThis is the VERY first time that Gil Kane and John Romita ever worked together on a comic book, and what an "AMAZING 2 issue story line we had with the VERY first time a major character DIES in the "AMAZING SPIDER-MAN" title! I'm not sure what else there is to say on this one! :)Social/Sharing |

Kane / Romita / Spidey, an unbeatable combination! Being a fan of all three, I am more than a bit biased in saying this, but this is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen.

This is the magic of Kane and Romita together on ASM--only Kane could create a composition this dynamic, with Romita's detailed, textured, lived-in world and fleshed out characters. Incredible depth to this page--wow!

Thanks for the kind words guys...I totally agree with you all..Kane and Romita were the PERFECT ART TEAM-UP, as Kane had such dynamic view points of the battle sequences, and Romita made Spiderman look like his versionj throughout so these 2 comibinations were the perfect set up for their iconic issues they worked on together!

So perfectly captured, like mid-air acrobatics......poetry in motion. Love this piece and remember this story-line so vividly. Outstanding and thank you for sharing Mike!

One of the first book I bought from a dealer near the Seine in 1971. I still have it as it's probably one of the best rendition of the webcrawler. This closing splash is engraved in my memory and I had to wait a few years to find the following issue to know what happened to Spidey. This is truly a grail page from the best team ever on the book.
