DescriptionSo bit of a long story on this one. This cover was made available in Jan this year ( Arthur really works ahead eh! ). I went to and fro on this piece quite a lot. I usually don't get pieces tied to Movies , am strictly a comic art guy. But there were a few reasons I finally went ahead and took the plunge here ( and it was a deep deep plunge ..lol)1. It is Arthur Adams Team Cover with main characters, these arent available readily 2. This cover reminds me of Avengers #4 cover, with that cap coming at you feel. Avengers #4 is my all time fav cover. Ever. 3. This piece spoke to a movie that perhaps changed the landscape of how people think about super hero movies. So its a bit of a landmark ( movie). so for this once, maybe I can bend my "only comic book" rule 4. A Huge image of Cap by AA . Cap , if its not clear by now, is my fav marvel character 5. see point 1 Social/Sharing |

What adjectives do you use to describe Arthur Adam's art?! I'll just choose "gorgeous" this time!

The movie version Battle for New York scene! Adams makes this great representative image of the Avengers in one of their most triumphant and recognizable scenes. All the great details and cartooning in his inimitable style.

Wait, wait, wait! Time out! I need to be standing somewhere else... Definitely NOT the direction anyone who knows what's good for them would want to be facing... but as an Arthur Adams fan, I guess there's no other real option, is there? Holy moley, Kit! Another superb A-level piece for your awe-inspiring gallery. So much detail to revel in here - so much to look at - and I can't wait for the better pix! (what is the size of the piece?) As it is, the shading and hatching on Loki (and the star field) is show-stoppingly, mind-bendingly incredible... and then there's the other 3/4 of the image! Like some amazing carnival slide, you're adrenalized when you reach the bottom and the only thing you want to do is climb back up and start from the top again. Incredible. And I love how the spines of the Chitauri ships break out of the panel borders here, just enough to add a bit of visual "dissonance" to the astonishing order and organization present. What a piece! Sincere congrats, man!

This piece is PACKED! So impressive. Not many artists can bring this amount of information and detail in one composition. I shudder to think about the blueline pencil grid he laid out underneath this beast! Great addition, Kit.

Man, that's an outstanding AA example! Glad you picked it up, even if a little against what you stick to. But purely as a piece of superhero art it's killer. Love point #5 :) Congrats!

Absolutely mindblowing! I love Arthur Adams' work and this is a fabulous example! Love the Avengers being lead by Captain America charging forward while, above and beyond them, the figure of Loki hovers, holding the Cosmic Cube. It's a top tier Arthur Adams masterpiece!
