DescriptionIt's not every day you get a chance to add a published Romita Sr piece to the collection!! This piece has everything you could ask from a Romita Cap piece: Cap, Bucky, Red Skull, Nazi soldiers, action, background... Plus you get a chance to admire the purity of his pencils! Bruce Timm was supposed to ink this piece, but he ended up doing the inks over a lightbox of the pencils. I love the note at the bottom by Timm on the piece from when he returned the pencils back to Romita "John - Inking this piece was a BLAST! Sorry I chickened-out of inking right on top of your pencils - Too intimidated! Hope you like the finished piece... Sincerely, Bruce Timm (a fan)"... How awesome is that? I know the inked piece was available at some point, and hopefully one day I'll be able to bring the two pieces together, but for now, I can enjoy this piece or Romita goodness!!Social/Sharing |

Beautiful finished pencils and such a great WWII battle scene! The hand written note by Timm is a great bonus.

It would have been a crime to cover up these stunning John Romita Sr pencils, so I think Bruce Timm did comic art history a big favor with his decision. Congrats on grabbing this beautiful piece!
