DescriptionIt’s all relative in the lives of the X family!NECROSA is nearing it’s end, Destiny (Irene Adler) has said her goodbyes to Rogue (her adopted daughter) and it’s time to let Blindfold (Ruth Aldine) know how these two pre-cogs are connected. This page reveals that Irene is not Ruth’s mother but likely her great grandmother. That’s why when she came back from the dead (Destiny dies by Legion’s hands in Uncanny X-Men #255) she reached out trying to connect to her family to warn them, thinking she connected to Rogue but in actuality connected to Blindfold. Mike Carey told this complicated story beautifully and with Clay Mann’s art and Crimelab’s ink (Danny Miki, Jay Leisten, and Allen Martinez) showcasing the emotional connections between these characters works in tandem to deliver some great art on a page. Destiny is masked but you can still feel the soft gentle tough and emotional connection she has with Blindfold. Blindfold has always been a very complicated standoff-ish character and to see her calm (still a bit lost) as she sits by the water is a nice touch. The mostly stoic Destiny reaches out and connects to her, clearing Blindfold’s mind enough to think clearly and the two have a nice moment walking off with the revelation of their specific connection. Destiny is then gone again, back to the afterlife. It was a nice to have her back, even if for only a short visit. Now seeing her back in the current run, is great as well, hoping we get a full reunion now that both Blindfold and Destiny have returned - maybe see a little more of that magnetic polarization that two pre-cogs in the same space may cause. The surrounding subtle linework and darker central image work well on this emotional page. Congrats!

Great panels. That mid panel shot of Destiny is my favorite

Clay Mann draws some of the prettiest people around. He even makes Destiny's masked look gorgeous to behold. Cool pickup, James!

Really emotive stuff...clearly a serene and somber moment and you don't need any words to get that. Also...just love how that hair is rendered and inked. Sublime stuff. Congrats, James!

Beautiful inking here, seeing the warm, "organic" Blindfold interact with the colder, more machine-like (as rendered) Destiny. This page doesn't suffer from not having words attached - it still works as a poignant, moving quiet moment. I really love that top panel; what a lovely moment, beautifully captured. Awesome pick up - congrats, James!
