DescriptionMan, I remember reading this issue in trade paperback in the 90s' over at Barnes & Noble! At the time, I was primarily reading mostly older Spider-Man and Spider-Man-related comics, so this issue and some subsequent ones were a bit too "new" for men; not to mention the darker tones of the colors somewhat frightened little me! What DID hit a chord with me as a fan however, was seeing Spider-Man and Daredevil teaming up. In my mind, and I think I stick by it to this day, Spidey's best friend was/is Daredevil. You could argue the case for the Human Torch, but I see Johnny Storm as Spidey's little brother (even though they're about the same age). There's Wolverine, but Logan is definitely the grumpy uncle Spider-Man never had, which leaves us with Daredevil. Anyway, I don't want to continue rambling about the inner dynamics of Spider-Man's superhero friendships, but I was also thrilled to see the wall crawler put a kibosh on DD trying to manhandle him for a second; don't try and debate it, Spidey is leagues stronger and faster than 'ol Hornhead! Be that as it may, this is an especially captivating issue that analyzes these two heroes and their friendship and I dig it. Also, the art by Mark Bagley is, of course, excellent!Social/Sharing |

This page gives me that warm nostalgic feeling. I always loved seeing Daredevil and Spider-Man together. Had many action figure battles against the Kingpin. This is a wonderful page by Bagley, and IMO one of the best Marvel Team-Ups around!

Awesome crossover page! They were doing crossovers like valium back then and they wanted Spidey audiences to be introduced to the new armored DD costume with the new combative attitude! Bagley is amazing with the soaring action and acrobatic feel on the page. The Mahlstedt inks and screentone work makes every panel zip along.

I watched this one with keen interest. Not surprised how competitive things got as Bagley pages don't seem to show up that much. I dig your description and this page seems to have found the right home. Very important to note the combination of Bagley and Emberlin are the comics that really stood out to me during this period.

Always cool seeing these 2 face off, or team up! Often times it'll be both in an arc :) I remember this page distinctly. Energetic storytelling top to bottom, and LOVE that leaping Spidey at the bottom left. Zipatone accents are also definitely a bonus in my book. Congrats!
