Description

Ah, "King Thor", the coda and final storyline to Jason Aaron's impressive Thor run at Marvel (2012-2019). And who better to draw that arc than his long-time collaborator (since 2013) Esad Ribic?

The first panel was done completely digital and shows Mjolnir fly through Asgard on its way to King Thor. The follow-up panel shows it arriving to Thor and the God of Thunder talking to his brother Loki, hung on a cross & beaten to a pulp by Gorr, the God Butcher.

The page ends strongly with a full figure King Thor, holding his iconic weapon and ready to kick some Gorr ass. This was the main selling point for me, of course.

I have been wanting both a meaningful piece of art from Aaron's Thor run & Ribic' work, so this was a great grab. With three of the key components to Aaron's work on "Thor" - Thor, Loki & Gorr - in here, it's even better. The piece is also signed by Esad.

Love the detailed pencils, as well as the blue line so you can see how Esad toyed with the composition and how other stuff was instantly worked out. Same as the panels he put down himself with pencils and inks over them.
