I've finally joined the Daniel Warren Johnson club with this great page from the "Quake" one-shot at Marvel in 2015.

As confirmed by Daniel in an interview on Marvel's YouTube account, this twenty page one-shot is his first published work at Marvel, and I feel very honored to have a piece of that history. It's definitely in his earlier period, yet undeniably recognizable as DWJ.

While I'm a big fan of the overall storytelling and close-ups on the lower half, it's the top half, a half-page splash that steals the show without a doubt. Thanks again, Klaas!

Awesome! Lots to love about this page! I agree with what you wrote about the top panel. The hard shadows, expressions, atmospherics, and staging are all terrific
