Description

A beautiful playful Gwen Stacy, done in the Spring of 2021. I gave Steve the choice between Gwen & MJ, and he gladly went with my favorite girlfriend of Peter Parker, with an outfit inspired by the one by Tim Sale in Spider-Man: Blue’s conclusion.

I see this as a mix between the beautiful, realistic interpretation of characters by Norman Rockwell, and that strong, elegant linework by Russ Manning. In short, the piece sums up what Steve Rude is all about!

It would seem Steve liked the piece, as it’s being used to advertise his commissions in his newsletters, mailings and on social media. And I can see why he’d like this one.
Size is 11x14, and this is mixed media, with pencils, inks and marker.

PS. There was another, earlier version of this piece that he did first, which did not exactly match what we had discussed earlier, but that was picked up soon after it was posted on his website. I take that as a compliment for this final version of the piece.

Update of 1st of August 2022 - Honored to share that this piece was published in Steve's "Steve Rude: 2022 Sketchbook & Commissions" book, and used as the very first page in the book, featuring the info of the book & its edition.
