I'll be honest - I had no idea who European comic artist Paolo Traisci was before this weekend's FACTS Comic Convention in Belgium. Luckily, one of the organizors pointed him and his new book out to me. (Thanks again for that!)

Via a limited ticket system (where you had to buy his book at $25), you got the chance to grab a free sketch. The only thing you had to do, was wait in line for your turn. I think Paolo worked for at least 30 minutes on each "sketch", so I did stand in line for a bit. Switching quickly between brushes and pens, it was magnificent to see him pencil & ink (wash) these, using various techniques. So, that made the waiting all the more fun. Incredible that he did these for free, too.

When I was up, I asked Paolo if he could do mine on bristol board (instead of on the first page of the book) & if he wanted to do a Black Cat. He laughed and said: "Sure!". The result is this great "European" take on the feline rogue. Size is 9x12.
