DescriptionSurprisingly, this WASN'T a commission. I know, I know - I tend to go to the same themes & characters. But this gorgeous Black Cat by Veronica Chiacchio was actually part of an exhibition she held in Galleria Moderni in Rome. It was shown there for a couple of weeks, together with some other amazing pieces.Well, this particular pin-up just spoke to me. The negative spacing immediately drew me into this piece, similar to how DaNi's work did; while the luring & sensual look - with a hint of Adam Hughes' best work - hooked me afterwards. Great idea. Even greater execution. This was done with pencils & inks on bristol that's a bit bigger than A3 (29 x 40,5 cm) - the European equivalent of 11x17. Social/Sharing |

She's fairly new! But she'll be going places fast. You may know her boyfriend, Spawn cover artist Federico Mele.

The contrast on this is just striking. The execution of what is left out and minimal lines to show the form and texture of her collar is just brilliant. This is a winner all around. Congrats on this!

Thanks, Eric! Well put! I love the confidence that Felicia exudes, too - a similar kind of confidence that Veronica had to have to create this negative space masterwork.

Thanks, Khalil! Veronica does some amazing stuff! There's some other cool pieces that she did for the exhibition with other popular characters!
